Fire Prevention Print this page
The Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Department has a committee to bring awareness to fire prevention and other health related issues.
A few tips:
Have your address numbers posted visibly. County guideline for reference:
On residential properties numbers must be at least 3-inches high, displayed on a contrasting background, and posted so as to be unobstructed and clearly visible from the street named in the address of the property. On commercial properties, the address shall be displayed in numbers 6-inches high. The rear entrance shall also be identified with the address.
Kitchen Safety
- Clean spills promptly.
- Use proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain good hygiene/sanitation practices.
- Take care when handling sharp or hot items
Ladder Safety
- Use a ladder approved for the weight being supported.
- The user should not overextend their reach.
- Keep metal ladders away from electrical wires.
